Based on the established technology of our vertical inline oven, type Vertical Pro (V-Pro), company Lükon developed a vertical oven for higher throughput and larger products – the Vertical Pro plus.
Range of application (some examples):
In standard version all kinds of thermal processes from 50 °C – 200 °C, especially:
- Drying of complex components
- Drying of silicon, conductive adhesives, protective lacquers and varnishes etc..
- Hardening of Underfills and other technical sealing compounds
- Glob-Top application, Flip-Chip assembly
- Customer and product specific thermal processes
Low footprint
The V-Pro plus only requires floor space of approx. 3.20 x 2.50 m, the height of the unit depends on the number of zones (4 – 16 zones are available as standard).
Large useable surface of the oven trays
The useable surface of each Lükon oven tray is 750 x 650 mm (net) at a maximum height of product of 100 mm (in the standard version). This allows the treatment of larger products, high production capacities and/or very long process times.
User-friendly control
Like all our vertical inline ovens of the series C-Pro and V-Pro, also the V-Pro plus is equipped with a Siemens-Panel-PC with Touch-Screen. The operating system is Windows XP embedded and the panel-PC also includes a soft-SPC (PLC). The operating software is developed in-house, which allows adaptions to customer and process specific requirements.
Standardized and consistent oven design
Also the V-Pro plus (like all other vertical inline ovens of company Lükon) is designed without mechanically moving parts in the process zone (no chain conveyor, no walking beam system etc.). Therefore, it is not only easy to maintain, but due to the fact that no lubricants/oil/grease is required and that there is no abrasion, all Lükon vertical inline ovens are suitable for clean room class ISO 7 (10’000) by standard.
Summary
In order to cope with the constantly increasing demand for higher throughput at longer process times, Lükon Thermal Solutions AG developed a vertical inline oven with considerably larger oven trays. Originally initiated by a world-wide renowned manufacturer of computer processors, we developed a vertical oven with a useable surface of 750 x 650 mm for each oven tray.
In its customer specific version, the 6-zone oven realizes a throughput of approx. 6’300 components per hour at a process time of 60 minutes (heating and cooling).
A suitable handling system for automatic feeding and removal of the customer’s products is of course also part of our delivery scope.
A comparison of 4-zone vertical ovens:
Calculating 5 products each (for C-Pro) resp. 10 products each (for V-Pro and V-Pro plus) in every customer work piece carrier (WPC) and comparing vertical ovens with 3 heating zones and 1 cooling zone each, a completely equipped oven can hold this number of products:

Capacity details always depend on customer product and process parameters!
The oven series V-Pro and V-Pro plus can be equipped with up to 12 zones in the standard versions. For the V-Pro plus, the above example would calculate a maximum amount of approx. 12’300 processors (resp. 1’230 customer WPC with 10 processors each).
Interesting to know:
With a size of 310 x 140 mm for each WPC (with 10 processors – see example above) and arrangement of 2 WPC next to each other (without distance/free space in between each two WPC), you need a horizontal oven with minimum 620 mm width of conveyor belt and a total oven length of approx. 86 meters (net!).
The footprint of the V-Pro plus is approx. 3.2 x 2.5 meters.
